Dealing with e-mail overload
Anyone else spend hours on end dealing with e-mail every day?

No, I already use Spam Assassin for a few years. Nice tool, especially if someone else administrates it for you.

I already have a spam filter. I'm talking about real email. I get a few hundred a day.

What about Popfile?

Hi, I use popfile (http://popfile.sf.net) already for some time. It is categorises emails using a simple but effective bayesian filter. After at most a week of training it does a a perfect job. Although the IMAP support is still in testing it worked without any trouble for me so far. And that's the version released more than half a year ago, so I suspect it's gotten even better.

The only drawback with IMAP is, that you can only use it on one server. With POP3 it works on many servers.

Really worth a try!

Note: At the time I tried it, the version in Gentoo's Portage was not really up-to-date and not usable for IMAP! I am now running v0.22.1 an all is green :)
